Various archaeological and historical monuments in Bessarabia reported by Zamfir Arbore in the Geografical Dictionary of Bessarabia complete the information about the Prut and Dniester Rivers’s antiquities. In his dictionary, the author laconically presents relics from this area, providing some new information about them. In this regard, it is necessary to check the discoveries mentioned by Zamfir Arbore, especially given the fact that an inventory of the immobile cultural heritage of the Republic of Moldova is a goal of the moment. Undoubtedly, the historical and archaeological notes from Zamfir Arbore’s Dictionary give us the possibility to study the past of the estern part of Moldova, a past materialized in stone fortresses, cave churches, waves and mounds, old cemeteries and commemorative monuments.
