Rezumat

The Council of Europe and the European Union seek to achieve greater unity between the States of Europe through respect for shared values, as protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, pluralistic democracy, the Rule of Law, as well as through pan-European co-operation. These two organizations recognize the unique contribution of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the jurisdictions of the Strasbourg and Luxembourg Courts. Co-operation between the Council of Europe and the European Union is at all levels and include joined projects in the field of youth questions, education, culture, and inter-cultural dialogue. The partnership between the two different but complementary organizations and closer contact between the people who run these organizations represent essential elements for the construction of Europe without borders.
