Autochthonous research initiated in the ‘70s, due to the increase of inventories of spontaneous flora investigations, improvement works and selection of fi eld crops. It presents the scientific achievements of the collaborator’s Moldovan scientific school in embryology and cytology. Chromosome number and morphology was investigated in over 974 species lines, mutants, polyploids of the gen.: Triticum, Zea, Avena, Secale, Hordeum, Sorghum, Panicum, Carex, Agropyron and, some species of fam.: Juncaceae, Cyperaceae, Asteraceae, Alliaceae, Asparagaceae, Amaryllidaceae, Lilliaceae, etc. For the first time were identifi ed new species for Republic Moldova and Europe wild fl ora and, determined the di-, tri-, tetraploid karyotype in many species and varieties of culture |
