The article is dedicated to CPM’s efforts, during the seventies and eighties, to counteract the “Romanian influence over the MSSR”, via RSR TV and radio, in the context of the USSR’s propaganda campaigns against Bucharest’s course of moving away from Moscow. Documents show that, in the period we studied, CPM tried desperately to develop
its transmission means, its efforts ranging from constructing relay stations to endowing studios with technology, in order to stand up to the superiority of Romanian TV relays, placed in counties bordering with the MSSR. Despite the consolidation of the radio and TV infrastructures, despite the war against “aerials oriented towards
Romania” which took place in that period, the SRR TV wasn’t totally neutralized: it continued to be watched by the population in border settlements, which used internal aerials. |
