It was evaluated the presence of metabolic disturbances at patients with arterial hypertension in association with obesity. It was established that the group was not homogeneous (22.7% were suffering of diabetes, the 2nd type, at 12.6% has been established a distorted tolerance for glucose, 17.6% had the glycemia in the normal limits and hyperinsulinemia and 47.1% had no modifications of the glucidic spectrum). The estimation of the lipids spectrum demonstrated the presence of the lipids triple combination characteristic for the insulinorezistence syndrome: hypertrigliceridemia in association with the high levels of the cholesterol and reduced levels of high density cholesterol. This, the patients with arterial hipertension in association with central obesity are factors of major cardiovascular risk and metabolic disturbances.
