Rezumat

The paper has started from the idea that a huge social experiment in all fi elds became related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the actors being represented from the individual to the community, from the institutional level to the state level. The researcher believes that the COVID-19 pandemic has created a favorable environment for the scientifi c community to join forces to collect, organize, process and distribute data about the new crisis, thus providing answers to this challenge. In the conditions of the pandemic crisis, the author pointed out that an enormous volume of scientifi c data was generated, being developed the problems regarding the speed of information, availability and scientifi c collaboration in the fi rst stages of the pandemic. In the highlighted circumstances, the researcher identifi ed that there are different levels of state involvement during a global crisis. Also, the existence of vulnerabilities regarding international cooperation was detected in the conditions of a geopolitical rivalry. The author expresses the belief that scientifi c researchers will act like the others, fi nd ways to comply with the rigors of the fi eld and refl ect on the positive and benefi ts they can get during the pandemic by their honest involvement in research and social responsibility. In conclusion, concludes by calling for the opportunity to promote a global and open science that deepens the interactions between the political, economic, security, environmental and social dimensions in the context of the pandemic crisis.
