In 2002, the share of the aged in the Republic of Moldova accounted for 503.306 people and the ageing coefficient amounted to 13.8%. The phenomenon of the population ageing causes social, economic and especially medical problems. The greatest role in the solution of health problems of the aged is played by the complex process of the geriatric rehabilitation. The main directions of the geriatric rehabilitation are as follows: - gerontological, social, training, economic and professional care. |
