Rezumat

Hepatitis is a major problem for public health at both global level and for the Republic of Moldova, and the evaluation of medicinal plants that improve liver function remains important from medical-social and economic points of view. Preclinical evaluation of the plant extracts is essential in our research. In vitro tests on hepatocyte cells cultures were performed to evaluate the effect of Agrimoniae herba (Agrimonia eupatoria L.) and Cichorii herba (Cichorium intybus L.) extracts on liver cell metabolism in the doses of 100, 200, 600 and 1000 mg/kg by MTT technique (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide). Viability of liver cells to the action of plant extracts denotes the fact that the doses of 100 – 600 mg obtained from Agrimoniae herba and Cichorii herba show higher cell viability and do not affect liver cells, respectively, which can be used in further studies.
