Actuality: Primary immunodefi ciency (PID) is a major group of over 300 diff erent entities caused by the defect of some immune system components. Patients with primary immunodefi ciency have a susceptibility to infections, especially respiratory, mainly with encapsulated pathogens with tropism for the upper and lower respiratory pathways that lead to complications such as bronchiectasis (75%), bronchial deformities, pulmonary fi brosis, sinusitis and chronic rhinitis, with direct implications for quality of life and mortality. Material and methods. In the study were evaluated 9 patients with primary immunodefi ciency. The patients underwent a wide range of exploratory diagnostics: assessment of humoral, cellular immunity by ELISA, radiographic chest examination, radiographic examination of the upper respiratory tract and pulmonary CT. Results. In the study, 9 patients were evaluated clinically and paraclinically confi rmed patients with primary immunodefi ciency, of which 44.4% were diagnosed with primary humoral immunodefi ciency 55.6% with combined immunodefi ciency. Severe and frequent localized respiratory infections have been the primary reason for addressing, which have become complicated along with chronic processes: bronchiectasis (22.22%), pulmonary fi brosis (33.34%), chronic atelectasis (11.11%), pleural adhesions (11.11%), chronic sinusitis (11.11%), bronchial deformities (11.11%). Bronchiectasis and pulmonary fi brosis were the most common complications, being predominantly reported in patients with humoral immune defi ciencies. Conclusion: Respiratory system involvement is the most common clinical manifestation in PID. Because of frequent infections, the association of chronic complications is inevitable, with a predominance of bronchiectasis and pulmonary fi brosis, especially in cases of humoral immunodefi ciency. |
