The aim of this study was to study the concentration of stromal cell-derived factor 1 (SDF-1) and CD 40 in urine sample in 65 children with primary glomerulonephritis of clinical diff erent evolutionary stages. Data from the study revealed that SDF-1 levels in urine increased 4,5-4,2 times (up to 3,13 ± 0,96 ng / mM creatinine) in steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SSNS) and steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) versus the control group (0,69 ± 0,16 ng / mM creatinine). In the nephrotic form of chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN), the increase period was 1,8 times (up to 1,22 ± 0,16 μg / mM creatinine) of the SDF-1 level in the urine, and a practically twice reduction during remission (up to 0,35 ± 0,05 ng / mM creatinine) compared to 0,69 ± 0,16 ng / mM creatinine in the control group. Regarding the CD-40 level in the urine, in the onset of both – SSNS and SRNS, there is a marked increase, which exceeded 3.3-2.4 times the values recorded in the control group. During the remission period the partial recovery of the given index is registered, which demonstrates the persistence of the renal pathological process. Determination of SDF-1 and CD 40 levels in urine are non-invasive markers for the assessment of renal injury, differential diagnosis of clinical evolutionary stages, disease monitoring and, also, development of new strategies for renal protection treatment in glomerulonephritis in children. |
