The family Cactaceae Juss. is represented, in the collections of the Botanical Garden (I) of ASM, by 897 taxa belonging to 137 genera. 462 taxa reach the generative phase (blossom) and 236 produce fruits with seeds. The plants of this family reproduce by seed and vegetatively. The value of the cactus collection of the BG is indubitable and the diversity of the family Cactaceae impresses the visitors.. |
