The novelty of this research is determined by the need to explore the military dimension of the security concept after the end of the Cold War. The time after the Soviet Union collapse has brought new dimensions to the concept of security, such as: political, economical, social, cultural and ecological. However, the military dimension has remained one of the most essential whereas the concept of this dimension has been developed by the new theoretical trend called neorealist (the revised vision of realism). According to this theory the states and international organizations have changed the security approach especially after terrorist attacks in the West after 1991.One of the facts that this study concludes with is related to military and security dimensions in the context of the war in Syria which is similar to the international situation of the Cold War. |
