The judge’s job is to achieve a delicate balance between the needs of the public and the rights of the individual. the duty of the judge is to protect the individual from abusive state action and to contribute to the meaning of citizenship and civic entitlement. While the central role of the judge in upholding the rule of law is simply stated, the methods by which this is achieved in our increasingly complex societies are changing and developing. To perform this task, the judiciary must remain independent of inthuence from other branches. this article seeks to analyze the judge’s role in detail at the trial level. |
