It is presented a synthesis from the literature regarding psycho-emotional traumas as a medico-social and legal issue. There is indicated an increase of stress factors in the actual society, with a negative impact on the human health, that is misbalancing all forms of activities. The action of stress factors depends on diverse reasons and conditions. From the thanatogenic point of view, psychological traumas can be examined under 3 main aspects: their in_uence on healthy people; decompensating of the activity of the sick body; represent a risk factor that causes the violent death. For the justice system and court, conclusions of the medico-legal expertise may be useful because of the absence of certain signs of this form of action on the human body.
