Prezentul articol are menirea de a trece în revistă principalele teorii care stau la baza modelului de gravitaţie pentru comerţ. Astfel, se poate vorbi despre două curente care s-au concretizat de-a lungul anilor: în baza concurenţei perfecte şi a randamentelor de scară constante; în baza concurenţei monopolistice şi a randamentelor crescătoare. Pe lângă aceste două curente, o serie de alte abordări analizează aspecte specifice ale comerţului.

This article has the goal to present the main theories of the gravity equation for the trade. Thus, one can talk about two movements, that marked this model: considering the perfect competition, and the constant returns to scale; and considering the monopolistic competition and the increasing returns to scale. In parallel to these two movements, there are other approaches that analysei specific aspects of the trade.
