Nu e secret faptul că, la orele teoretice şi practice, profesorii de literatură atrag deseori mai mare atenţie biografiei scriitorilor, mărginindu-se în acest caz doar la nararea subiectului şi fabulei operelor literare ale acestora, astfel încât intenţia autorilor, subtextul lucrărilor şi schimbările luate în procesul de creare a acestora rămân puţin elucidate. Seminarul „Corelarea ficţiunii cu realitatea în literatura artistică" are drept scop cercetarea motivării istoriei unei opere beletristice de către unele evenimente din biografia autorului ei.
