In the beginning of the 90-th starts to form social work as a professional activity. It`s aim is to satisfy social and personal interests and necessities of different groups of population. To make the conditions, that promote renewal and improving of the people`s abilities to social functioning. It includes an administration to the people, that are in need, that are not capable to solve their problems. Social and economical reorganizations, that are made in our country, are connected with the activity of the penitentiary system. Nowadays, in the Republic of Moldova is going on formation of the social work with the prisoners, is describing basic directions in such activity. This activity is connected with social help, supporting in the period of punishment and adaptation after the emancipation in the society.
