The theory of social representation started from the idea proposed by Serge Moscovici, who took over the Durkheim concept of collective representation and giving it a new life. Over the next five decades, the theory of social representations has been developed a lot, exceeding boundaries of social psychology. Has appeared plenty of ways of research: the structural theory of social representation, the theory of principles of taking positions, bidimensional model and the model based on logical operations. The development of social representation theory continues up to the present, through researches which took place in different places of the world. Last few years is discussed the relationship among the social representation and social memory, and, social representation and social identity.
The social representations theory has been positioned firm in social sciences, because, specially it influences our social norms and values, aimed establish order and ensure communication between members of the social group. |
