This article, The history that could have been: the human, the text and the canon, approaches the problem of literary history from the perspective of the feminist criticism in the 1970s-1980s. This approach tries to analyze different aspects regarding the evolution of the feminist criticism, especially the confrontation of its methodologies with traditional criticism refering to the problem of literary canon, cultural capital, representation and formation of the human identity through literary text.
