The research focus of the present scientific approach is the origin of the European Union and its objectives. The European Union is a complicated entity, which can only be understood through the light of its predecessor Communities. The research aims to explain the origins of the European Union up to the birth of its idea. Afterwards it will be taken a look at its objectives, both intended and achieved. Last but not least some of the EU’s current problems will be presented.

Obiectul de cercetare al prezentului demers ştiinţific îl constituie originea Uniunii Europene şi obiectivele ei atinse. Entitatea Uniunii Europene este una complicată, care poate fi înţeleasă doar prin prisma Comunităţilor anterioare ei. Cercetarea tinde să explice originea Uniunii Europene până la naşterea ideii ei. Ulterior se vor discuta obiectivele ei atât intenţionate, cât şi atinse. Nu în ultimul rând sunt prezentate şi problemele UE din ziua de azi.
