The paper considers the notion of “verbal behaviour”, different approaches to understanding the verbal behavior from purely linguistic point of view and dominant features of verbal behaviour in the English linguoculture as well. Emphasis is placed on the revealing and analysis of the linguistic properties of the verbal behaviour of one of the characters of the novel “Three Men in a Boat” by Jerome K. Jerome. |
