Rezumat

The personality of each of us is a unique construct due to the combination of our genetic endowment, the environment in which we grow and form, and the education we receive. Thus, personality in psychosociology is a social construction constituted by learning and interaction with other people, the others counting in the way of our becoming both as models and as landmarks, as terms of reference. The formation of self-respect in children is strictly dependent on its unconditional acceptance by the parents. The message of value and uniqueness sent to children by adults prevents the appearance of self-doubt. Unconditional love from parents (not just if the child cleans his room, gets good grades, comes home early etc.) almost always precedes acceptance and self-respect. The conditional love of the parents towards the children is strictly dependent on their performance, and if the performance is not what is expected, the love is not manifested. if the child does not feel that he deserves the love of his own parents, he assumes that he is unworthy of being loved, therefore he has no reason to keep to himself either. Consequently, the child feels useless - a nobody - and forms a low self-image.
