Rezumat

One of the actual problems around the world is the ageing population on the background of raising the life expectancy, combined with the declining of birth rates. The governments are looking for solutions, one of them being the alternative of private pensions, with the following questions arising: are private pensions sustainable on a long term? Does the current economic situation, of economic and financial crisis, affect the viability of private pensions? According to these weaknesses, we analyze the efficiency of private pensions in Romania, based on statistical correlations between their profitability and the investments of the net assets.
