The article is dedicated to the study of the philanthropic activities of the clergy of the Diocese of Kishinev during the 2nd and 3rd stages of WWI. The activity of the Spiritual Committee for the collection of donations and the organization of the effective distribution is described as well as the function of the Brotherhood of Labor, the Ladies Committee and the Spiritual Lazaret. Statistical data about the help shown to the troops in the army and the civil population on the territory of Bessarabia is put into circulation. Special attention is paid to the reconstruction of the process of the organization of Orphanage-Workshop for the crippled soldiers and the Bessarabian Children's Orphanage, the characteristics of their activities in the decision of solving actual problems of rehabilitation of invalids of the war and the socialization of children who were left without parental care.
