The origin of social reaction against criminality coincides with the origin of society. It is certain the fact that society is neither a mechanical product, nor a mystical entity, but a form of cooperation of individuals. In order to explain the origin of society we should not entirely ignore the role of the individual, because every society appears as a whole with a certain structure, and is always in movement. The society cannot be reduced to a simple association of individuals, but we cannot abstract ourselves from the person. Thus, it is necessary to have a normative and coercive power, which is the law, which has its principal task of regulation and sanctioning of relations among the members of society, as well as between the society and state.
