Rezumat | ||||||
The African continent is proving to be most affected by armed conflicts and military confrontations of varying magnitude, which has substantially affected the peace and security process. In the text of this article, we intend to analyse the regional mechanisms for conflict prevention and for ensuring peace and security in relation to the powers and competences of the United Nations Security Council in cases of initiation and implementation of military interventions. We also intend to analyse the most important normative provisions and international and regional instruments for their implementation in the event of regional crises in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali and Libya to highlight the need, effects and prospects of these interventions as an important component of the process of insuring peace and security in the region. |
