The present article is dedicated to the research of the policy of the Labor Government
of Great Britain towards the candidate states which joined the EU in 2004. Great
Britain actively supports the process of EU enlargement, which differs it from other
states of Western Europe and gives some optimistic hopes for the Balkn states, Turkey
and some countries of Eastern Europe in the context of their strategic aspirations to
join the EU. The present research is based on the documents of the Labor government
of Great Britain, the majority of which at the present day didn't constitute the subject of
special scientific research, and contains analysys and the essence of the conception of
EU enlargement of contemporary British state management.
