The study refers to the periodical of the Romanian Social Institute from Bessarabia (1934-1940), which was named after the Bulletin of the Romanian Social Institute from Bessarabia. The main goal of the periodical was to popularize the results of the monographic research activity of the rural social reality organized and carried out by the Romanian Social Institute from Bessarabia. During its operation period, the Bessarabia sociological institution had in total two volumes of the Bulletin. The fi rst volume appeared in 1937 and included some of the results of the scientifi c researches carried out in the villages of Iurceni (1935) and Nişcani (1936) from Lăpuşna District. The second volume was printed in 1939 and included the results of sociological research conducted in the village of Copanca (1937) from Tighina District. In 1940, the third volume of the periodical Bulletin would appear, which included some of the results of the researches realized by the Regional Institute in Popeştii de Sus village (1938) from Soroca District, but, because of fi nancial diffi culties and subsequently, of the Bessarabia annexation by the USSR, it has failed to be edited. Due to the publication of the two volumes of the Bulletin, those interested readers from Bessarabia and Romania had the opportunity to learn about the fi rst experience of scientifi c research in the social fi eld that were undertaken in Bessarabia, as well as about the most important activities carried out by the Regional Sociological Institute for the cultural and scientifi c development of our region.
