The functions of the National idea is to identify the vector of movement for global society, united under the nation-state. Conceptual transformation of the national idea can be carried out throughout history from the original to a more modern and larger term. Absence of a national idea denies the various forces of society to pool their efforts in the name of development, a stable country, its security and future.Up till 2004, the country’s political parties had not been a whole ideology, linking past, present and future of the people. And that ideology should be associated with such a national idea, which together would be equal to Moldovans and ethnic minorities who live in Moldova. Therefore, the Moldovan national idea should be linked to serious reforms in the economy. National idea can exist only in the triad of state and society. The complex problem of identity which includes the entire nation can be solved within the framework of European culture and European values. The process of consolidation of various ethnic and social groups is possible only on clear idea of all, reflecting their deep understanding of the just society, in which both individuals and entire populations would be an opportunity for spiritual, intellectual and physical development. The European civilization constitutes this possibility. The process of EU enlargement and European integration of Moldova is considered by its citizens as a chance to reintegrate the country. In this context, the integration of Moldova into the EU is considered to be «the center of gravity»-ideological and conceptual pursuit, reflecting the national interest and vital needs, views on the future of the country, comprising the world community.
