The hieromonk Isachie was born in 1807 in the village Pașcani, district Iași, Romania, in the family of a priest. In 1827 he came to the Neamț monastery, where he became a monk in 1830. There, Isachie, worked as a pressman and bookbinder. After the dissolution of the printing press, he continued his activity in Chișinău. After the year of 1864 he had established permanently at the Noul Neamț Monastery, village Chiţcani, where he died on 13 March, 1880. His remains were discovered on January 2, 2007, when the grave of bishop Dorimedont Cecan was dug. Perceived as a divine miracle, it was decided to bury the latter into another place. So, the bishop of Edineț and Briceni, Dorimedont, who died on 31 December 2006, was buried in the chapel, near the main church.
