Background: growth is a sensitive indicator of postnatal health. Premature infants with EUGR is common in preterm with SGA. Aim of the study Assessment of nutritional status in preterm babies with GA < 36 7 w.g. and birth weight ≤2500g, with using growth curves Fenton. Results. In both groups of the study (group I vs group II) were mostly premature babies with gestational age of 28-31 w.g.- 120 children (56,1%) vs 104 (41,2%) (p<0.01). The mean hospital stay is shorter in groups II by 3,2 days– 34,5±20.64 days (p=0.068). Children with AGA at birth who had normal weight at the discharge was 55,5% in group II (140 babies)- compared to goup I- 41,1% cases (88 babies) (p<0.01). EUGR of children with AGA was signifi catnt in group I - 37,4% babies (80 cases) (p< 0,01). Conclusions. Using the Fenton growth curves in premature babies alowe to assess growth parameters. SGA can be positively influenced by an adequate nutritional support. Despite of agressive nutritional support of premature have a tendency to extrauterine growth retardation especialy in the parameter of body weight (< 10th percentile). |
