Modern novelists persistently seek the truth. The result of this learning is literary work that gains a profound gnosiological character. Gnosiological truth is designed as a sum of relative truths constantly compared and confronted. The usage of perspective narrative techniques, through which knowledge is produced, brings onto the stage human dramas of knowledge and characters of knowledge. Modern novelists create their characters in a perspective of authenticity. Subjective narrators achieve perspectives on the compositional coherence. In the novel „Patul lui Procust” Camil Petrescu experiences this literary modality – multi-perspective technique. The book is an insight narrative at the first person singular from different perspectives of five narrators. The author is a real person, who lived in a determined historical period, he imagines event scenario, creates characters, puts them in time and space context, and creates an „author-narrator” who organises the action in a compositional unit. The narrator organises the text, corrects the visions of each individual through other points of view. The multi-perspective character is different in subject-perception of a viewfinder and in the vision of the reader. The solution proposed by Camil Petrescu for his novel construction – multi-perspective technique – is an absolute novelty for the interwar Romanian literature. |
