The vocabulary is in constant development, based on various factors: the achievements of the scientific and technical progress, the emergence of new realities and the need to name them, the relations between nations. In its historical evolution, the Romanian language has come into contact with different languages, from which it borrowed many words. This phenomenon is a natural one, because only a permanent linguistic interaction is increasing its viability and value. Etymologically, our language has its origin in popular Latin. They were inherited from it most of the words constituting the main layer; the indigenous terms of GetoDacian origin form the substrate, and foreign influences that enriches the vocabulary form the adstrate.
