Rezumat | ||||||
The Metropolitan Arsenie Stadniţchi, born in Bessarabia, reached the heights of the ecclesiastical hierarchy, being one of the three candidates for Patriarch of Russian Orthodox Church in 1917. This was due to the outstanding performances, recorded during his career as a powerful representative of the Orthodox clergy in the Russian Empire. Outstanding erudition and intellectual preparation
were decisive factors in the success of his historical research. A. Stadniţchi, thanks to his judiciously documented works and critical and objective interpretation of the researched theme, became one of the most prolific Russian historians of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. A. Stadniţchi’s performance, full of
sacrifice in Soviet times, served as a fair reason for his canonization by the Russian Church in Diaspora. |
