By the discovery of Manuscript no. 154 at Neamt Monastery Library in 1984, Romanian literature was filled with a valuable documentary source – The History of Secu and Neamt Monasteries from their founding until 1857. The respective manuscript has been studied by researcher dr. Dan Zamfirescu and deacon, prof. Ioan Ivan. However, both publishers have set wrong dating and authorship of this author. In this article are presented documentary evidences, coming to clarify this situation. After a critical analysis, documentary argumented, it is found out that the true author of the Manuscript No. 154 and of the other variants of History of Secu and Neamt Monasteries was confessor Andronicus (1820-1893), monk at the monasteries of Neamt and Secu until 1861, then at New Neamt, in Bessarabia.
