The article discusses some controversial views on the origin of the
toponyms, showing the causes of their incorrect etymological interpretations. The
author fights against the attempts of falsification of historical realities underlying the
denomination of topical objects; the purpose of wrong interpretations has a political
and ideological nature. Due to scientific treatment of phenomena and facts there is thus
an obvious contribution to regulation of national toponymic fund. |
