An experiment was conducted to study the influence of rapeseed phospholipids in combination with a complex chalk-based supplement containing vitamins and minerals on the yield and natural resistance in cattle. Four groups of cows and four groups of calves were constituted. The control groups were fed with the basal diet plus the complex chalk-based supplement (calves 20-25g, cows – 25-40g per 100kg live weight). Animals from experimental groups received, in addition to this diet, rapeseed phospholipids in the following doses: 5%, 7,5% and 10%. The obtained results showed that the average milk yield increased in all experimental groups. The highest increase was
recorded in the group fed with 10% of rapeseed phospholipids. The cows from this group had a daily milk gain of 1-1,9 kg, which is by 15,3% more compared with the control group. The calves which were given 7,5% of rapeseed phospholipids recorded the highest body weight gain – by 148 g more than the control group. The results of immunological investigation revealed a stimulatory effect of the complex supplement in combination with phospholipids on humoral defence factors. The indices of natural resistance (bactericidal and lysozyme activity of blood serum) incresead in both cows and calves. However, by the end of experimental period (90 days), they begin to decrease. The reduction of bactericidal and lysozyme activity can be assotiated with the transition to summer grazing. |
