The author considers the research in the larger and actual context of revealing the local traditions of the Moldovan rugs. As a result of the field work started in 2001 and continued in the following years, she displays the value of carpet weaving in the village of Ţâra, which belongs to a centre of carpet weaving formed by several villages, being their remarkable exponent. The discovered weavings are extremely valuable due to their representative character, and form a proper frame of study. Two big groups of rugs were revealed. Those of more ancient tradition, have the wool dyed with natural colorants, the décor is formed of geometric, vegetal stylized or mixed motifs, and pastel colours. Meanwhile, the rugs of later tradition, from the second half of the XXth century, have the wool dyed with chemical colorants, complex, vegetal stylized motifs, being thoroughly woven on a single thread, respecting a warm chromatic. Along with items of highbrow artistic tenure, were also identified rugs of commercial purpose, with naturalistic motifs.

Autoarea îşi încadrează cercetarea în contextul mai larg şi de actualitate al relevării tradiţiilor locale ale covoarelor moldoveneşti. Urmare a unei cercetări de teren, începută în anul 2001 şi continuată în anii următori, pune în valoare ţesutul covoarelor din satul Ţâra, care face parte dintr-un centru de ţesut covoare format de mai multe sate, fiind exponentul lor de seamă. Ţesăturile descoperite sunt foarte valoroase prin reprezentativitatea lor şi formează un cadru adecvat de studiu. Au fost relevate două grupuri mari de covoare. Cele de tradiţie mai veche, au lâna vopsită cu coloranţi naturali, decorul format din motive geometrice, vegetal stilizate sau mixte şi un colorit pastelat. Iar covoarele de tradiţie mai tardivă, din a doua jumătate a sec. XX, au lâna vopsită cu coloranţi chimici, motive complexe, vegetal stilizate, ţesute migălos pe un singur fir, respectând o cromatică caldă. De rând cu exemplare de înaltă ţinută artistică au fost descoperite şi covoare de natură comercială, cu motive naturaliste.
