The paper presents James Joyce’s vision upon temporality and history’s progress. The cyclic history’s reconstruction of the universe and progressive arrangement of constitutive phases in the human history erupts between two artistic epochs in the previous century. If innumerous endeavors to follow the alignment of intertextuality (Wagner’s music, Sterne’s work, etc) existed earlier, then Joyce gave the first complete production encompassing a whole world in a limited form of juxtaposed references and feedbacks – a cosmic encyclopedia of the humanity. In a centripetal manner this form and world have such existential references so that to maintain history on its circular trajectory both as a spatial entity and a meaningful level. The risk of a circular excursus is that there are no probable beginning and ending.
