Rezumat

Each time we refer to our own person or we try to appreciate a colleague, a friend or a simple employee we relate to a certain scale of esteem or self- esteem of her / his activity, quality, value that corresponds to an existent standard in the society and to certain expectations from the side of the estimator /self-estimator. The self-esteem of a person is formed in time and it can get another dimension in evolution during the life and the professional development. As it results from the conception of the individual about the world and life, the latter being axed on previous experience, each of us forms a set of ideas about her-/ himself and about the world one integrates in. The relation between the expectations of a person and his level of self-esteem makes up the cognitive infrastructure of every activity. The self-esteem of an individual is determined by the correlation between success and expectations which present two ways to enrich the self-esteem through the decrease of the level of expectations. A person can choose deliberatively her / his way in life and, as a result, can more consciously come closer to her/his success or failure.
