În prezentul articol sunt puse în discuție aspecte legate de dezvoltarea istorică a regiunii nord-vest-pontice în perioada timpurie a epocii bronzului. Au fost supuse analizei probleme aparte, ce țin de cultura arheologică Bugeac și statutul acesteia. Specificul culturii Bugeac a apărut încă la etapa formării acesteia, ceea ce permite sincronizarea ei cu mediul cultural-istoric Jamnaja în întregime: 3200/3100-2200/2100 a. Chr. și nu doar cu perioada târzie a culturii Jamnaja. În geneza culturii Bugeac pot fi difențiate două etape: timpurie și târzie, având limita în jur de 2600/2500 a. Chr. În ce privește diferența poziției defuncților și unele deosebiri ale inventarului funerar, acestea pot fi puse în legătură cu structura socială a comunităților, și nu cu etapele cronologice. Ierarhia socială a populației culturii Bugeac și evidențierea „grupelor ritualice” în cadrul acesteia sunt importante în procesul examinării diferitor aspecte: cronologie, stratigrafie, evoluție și contacte culturale.

Northwest Pontic Region, Budzhak culture, chronology, stratigraphy, social stratification. Abstract: The article deals with the historical development of the Northwest Pontic Region in the Early Bronze Age. It analyzes certain issues related to the Budzhak archaeological culture. The specificity of the Budzhak culture was manifested already at its formation stage, which allows synchronizing it with the Yamnaya cultural-historical region in general: 3200/3100-2200/2100, and not only with the late Yamnaya period. Two stages in the genesis of the Budzhak culture can be identified: the early and the late, with the boundary within the range of 2600/2500 BC. Differences in the positions of the dead and some features of the grave goods may be related to the social structure of community rather than to chronological stages. The social hierarchy of the Budzhak culture people and the identification of “ritual groups” within it are important when considering aspects of the chronology, stratigraphy, evolution and cultural contacts.
