Present article addresses the issues of irregular transitional migration of Moldovan citizens through the third countries. The article demonstrates that labor migration is the basic form of the migration of Moldovan population nowadays. The author describes the main reasons, which cause Moldovan citizens to emigrate from Moldova and look for better opportunities to earn money, describes the main trends and patterns of labor migration and its main effects. Special attention is paid to governmental policies related to migration regulation. The author is analyzing their effectiveness, strengths and weaknesses. The article points out to the factors influencing phenomenon of irregular transitional labor migration of Moldovan population, main methods and activities of minimization of this phenomenon. It is listing qualitative and quantitative results of sociological researches, which contribute to the better understanding of the phenomenon of irregular transitional migration in its institutional and human dimensions.
