Background. The instability of the posterior pelvic ring occurs in severe fractures of the pelvis type B and C, of the Tile classification, and, in the last years, is constantly increasing and requires new methods of osteosynthesis. Objective of the study. Was to present and introduce, in clinical practice, the spino-pelvic and ilio-sacral stabilization in patients with – posterior pelvic ring lesion and evaluation of the surgical treatment results. Material and methods. The study included 20 patients, treated during 2020–2022 years, within the Institute of Emergency Medicine, and followed medical check-ups. Results. After performing the internal osteosynthesis of the posterior pelvis, by spino-pelvic and ilio-sacral fixation, in all patients a satisfactory bone block was formed, which was evaluated radiologically in time. There were no complications during the patient’s follow-up period. Conclusion. The spino-pelvic and ilio-sacral fixation method allowed a firm fixation of the posterior hemipelvis, highlighting a low morbidity rate, compared to the methods of external osteosynthesis of the pelvic fractures. This allowed to perform, if necessary, the intraoperative decompression of posttraumatically damaged nerve structures and allowed the formation of a satisfactory bone block. |
