Republic of Moldova tends towards the humanization of the state penalizing system and in this sense the specter of alternative measures of deprivation of liberty has been enriched and widened. The application of these measures, increase of their efficiency and the resort to them of court instances are connected with a number of political, law and social factors. Though the state policy in the domain of combating criminality has changed and has become favourable to resorting to alternative measures of deprivation of liberty, the court instances are not quite receptive to them, continuing condemnations to liberty deprivation. In this way, the work in the field of propagation of alternative measures to liberty deprivation among practitioners follows to be continued, including the way of improvement of legislative framework. |
