Historical changes during the last 100 years have impacted and continue to impact negatively public life, economy and our spiriatual existence, in particular. Aggresive atheism of the former Soviet State, as well as extreme conservatism of the Russian Orthodox Church, its parishioners being the majority between Prut and Nistru, have contributed to the diveregent celebrations of the Holy Days, such as Easter, Christmas, New Year Day. Thus, all the mentioned significantly impede return to the national popular traditions. The article in question presents a set of arguments as to why these impediments need to be overcome as the Republic of Moldova is becoming more Europe-oriented and its population gradually evolves together with the lives democratic states.
