Actuality. In Republic of Moldova the phenomenon of children, separated by one or both parents who left to work abroad, has reached one of the haighest levels in Europe. Being deprived from parent care, especially at a fragile age, is considered to be a factor of risk for the healthbeing of children. According to rationality of the fact that parental workforce migration can influence the morbility of children, we need studies that would identify the causal ties between childrens’ morbidity and the effects of migration. Aim of the study was to elucidate the peculiarities of adresability of children of those parents who left to work abroad. Material and methods. In order to evaluate the medical and social efects of parental migration upon the health of children who are affected by their parents’ workforce migration there was performed a selective transversal study, that included 400 of children from four regions of republic of Moldova with a high incidence of children of the parents’ workforce migration. The questionnaires were used as instruments of research: Questionnaire for children affected by the parnets’ workforce migration; Qustionnaire for parent/tutor of the child affected by parents workforce migration. The results. The weekly necessituy in medical assistance was declared by 5,2 % ( 95 % CI 1,09 % - 7,1 %) of respondents, however only 3,5 % ( 95 % CI 1,3 % - 9,2 %) had addressed. Once in a month, 29 children or 7,2 % (95 % CI 1,77 - 18,2 %) had a need to be offered medical assistance, but from the respondents only 14,7 % (95 % CI 1,77 - 18,2 %) had adressed. At the same time those who addressed for medical assistance were 12,3% (95 % CI 1,63 - 15,6 %) of children. The number of those who had a frequent necessity in beeing offered medical assistance from one time till three months were 30,3 % of children (95 % CI 2,42 % - 42,2 %). In this case everybody had addressed and got medical assistance. Conclusions. Children of migrants present a greater necessity in medical assistance than the mode of real addressability for medical help. The evaluation of medicational preferences had confirmed that children of migrants accept treatment methods both medical and non-medical on a more or less equal basis. The majority of children of migrants are using are using their parents’remittances as medicational aquizition. |
