Rezumat

Nowadays, endometrial cancer represents one of important problems that is worth of debates in gynecology oncology. This pathology occupies the 4-th place in female tract’s morbidity structure and demands special attention to be paid by health care system. Our investigations included 232 patients with endometrial cancer and 54 non-cancer patients with benign uterine diseases. The mean age was 53,0±8,2 years. Conclusions: the present study has demonstrated that endometrioid is the most representing type of endometrial cancer (73,3%); non-endometrioid tumors with a unfavourable prognosis constitutes (26,7%); in the group of patient representing the I variant of pathogenesis the non-endometriod tumors occupied 30 cases (16,4%), whereas in the II variant there were 32 cases (65,3%) wich confirms the affirmation that the II variant is characterised by a worse prognosis; ultrasound examination of the uterus affected by cancer detected that there is a association in 45,7% with leyomiomata, in 35,2% with adnexe masses, in 4,1% with bulky tumors and in 56,2% the uterus was of normal size.
