In the article is revealed the necessity to respect basic conditions, specified in many international agreements and conventions, to assure global ecologic al security, whi- ch is represented by a totality of local and regional policies, regulations, standards, instructions, procedures, concepts applied early as possible, in the stage of projects and preconception, related to any type of common activity and human actions with important rate of real or potential risk for environment, directed to assure high level of management organizing, control and supervising for prevention and limiting of con- sequences of environmental accidents, natural disasters and any acts of environmental terrorism, to sustain equilibrium and equity of ecosystems of planet Earth and main- tain the quality of life. The author examines environmental policies worldwide in the context of complex international cooperation. Importance of coordination of national environmental strategies with regional and international policies is considered to be crucial for assuring ecological security as a fundamental component of global sustai- nable development.
