The French nation due to the achievement of its Revolution of 1789 made prominent and important the liberty if a person, the equality and fraternity of human beings. This fact launched the renovation of the constitution in most of the European states. The development of the right to labour in the framework of historical acts was a continuous process, beginning with the idea of proclamation up to the guarantee by means of the universal vocation acts. In reality, dispositions concerning the right to labour differ from one country to another by mode and form of guarantee, some of them guaranteeing the right to labour, others the obligation to work. The post-war constitutions of some states also proclaimed the right to equal remuneration for equal labor and the right to rest, which is sometimes interpreted as an organic continuation of the right to labour. The state should arrange for all people to be employed in honest and useful activity, which deserves to be rewarded and there should not be admitted, under any form, the infringement of liberty and human dignity or to reduce labour to a simple commercial object. |
