Stereotypes include in oneself the cognitive senses and behavioural programs. At the same time, since its birth, the child lives in an environment, where there already exist laws, systems, including values, behavioural roles, traditions etc. In the opinion of R. Brown, an English researcher: “ Stereotypes are rooted in the cul-ture in what we are born and live and are reproductive by all socio-cultural ways by means of socialization in the family and school, also and by repeated exposure in vari-ous images from books, TV, and press” 2, p.8. Researchers admit that “the stereotype is a set of specific features, from what something represents the personality features. Like the super-generalizations, ethnical stereotypes cancel the differences among individual belonging to the same group, they being characterized by identical features of personality” (Gardiner, 1970; Brigham, 1971, Chelcea,1995). |
